I’m
Laura.

A Registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to supporting, guiding and empowering women to return to themselves throughout the many seasons of their lives.

Laura

Welcome to The Held Space. I’m so glad you found your way here. My journey into Occupational Therapy began at the University of Manitoba, where I was drawn to the profession’s unique ability to blend the art of daily living with connection, science, psychology, and holistic wellness.

After completing my Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) in 2017, I gained invaluable experiences in the nearly 10 years I’ve worked with people across the lifespan and in many diverse settings such as schools, Indigenous communities through Jordan’s Principle, hospital and geriatric rehabilitation, and private practice. These experiences have allowed me to hone a deep understanding of how our well-being and health is shaped by our connection to self and others, our nervous system’s capacity to regulate our emotions and behaviour, and how we are impacted by the context of our environments and communities. It continues to be an immense privilege and honour to hold space for each and every client, team, family and community I’ve had the opportunity to support.

A Holistic Evolution

Where it
began.

The birth of my first son in 2020 sparked what became my vision for my first private practice, Motherhood Holistic. This transformative time in my own matrescence journey and experiences throughout the perinatal period highlighted a profound need for intentional holistic support for mothers — a safe space to be held during tender times of transition, growth, and evolution.

“This is your soft and safe space to land; a place to be seen, heard and held, wherever you are on your journey.”

What began as a focus on maternal health (while still near and dear to my heart and very much an active area of my practice), has evolved into The Held Space — a practice rooted in honouring that need for all women.

Beyond the Practice

Where I
replenish.

When I’m not supporting my clients, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and three beautiful children, finding quiet moments in nature, reading, practicing yoga, out for a long walk, or catching up with friends. I am always seeking the same intentionality I share with my clients.
